Joni Earickson, an artist, at only 17 years old has a diving accident that fractures her spine in July 1967.
She is left paralyzed with only movement from her neck upwards. With her future hopes dashed she wrestles with her feelings and with God as she tries to find the meaning of this limited existence along with the difficulties of continuing normal relationships.

One of the ways she is able to express herself is through her art which is stunning and touching.
