45 years of communism ended in 1991 and left a nation
hungry to hear from the outside world. People, who for so many years risked severe punishment if caught listening to a foreign radio or television station, were now bombarded with international media.
Within a couple of years of freedom even the poorest family had a satellite dish and the television would be watched
throughout the day.
A decade and a half later, the Albanians are the most avid watchers of television in Europe, maybe in the world.
With around 66 different channels in this country of 2.5 million inhabitants,
there is much to chose from, but little thought to instigating positive values in society.
Media has an enormous power to influence the way people view the world and their beliefs at
every level. What a place to be proclaiming the gospel!
Logos studio wants to take hold of this opportunity to tell this nation about Jesus.

OPPORTUNITY FOR GOD'S WORD
There are currently no restrictions on transmitting
religious programs and a clampdown
on copyright laws have left TV stations
searching for material to fill their viewing
time.
That's where LOGOS comes in. We are translating, subtitling and dubbing
programs with a Christian message into Albanian and make our own
productions - something Albanian for Albanians.

Not only are these productions broadcast on the TV in Albania, but also on stations that broadcast to Albanians in Kosova, Macedonia and Greece. They are available to the church wherever it is working amongst Albanians scattered throughout the world.
HELPING OTHERS TO PROCLAIM CHRIST
LOGOS studio works alongside other organizations who aim to proclaim Christ in Albania. Logos helps with video projects within Albania or for promotion of their work outside Albania.

BUILDING THE CHURCH
The Albanian church is young. Members lack experience of Christian role models in areas such as leadership, marriage, parenting and living the Christian life in the workplace (where corruption is rife).
In a society that rarely reads books, video is a powerful means of making such teaching available to the church. LOGOS is keen to do this.
